To make a hair bleacher,
you will need two things:
- Developer
- Bleach powder
You can get those ingredient from Sally.
*Prepare a pair of gloves along with a bowl and a comb/brush that you are not using anymore for application*
There are 4 different types of developer,
they differ by volume, 10 ,20, 30 and 40.
Sometimes it also goes by percentage 3%, 6%, 9%, 12% respectively.
Volume 10 is used to dye a darker hair color, whereby volume 40 is used to dye very light hair color.
The amount of strength goes form volume 10 (3%) ---> volume 40 (12%)
The higher the volume number, the more damage it causes your hair.
Therefore, for bleaching your hair,
I would recommend to use, volume 30 or 9% developer to avoid extreme damage. 👍
The process is pretty easy:
*Sorry for not taking pictures of the process, it was pretty messy =X* 😝😝
1) mix both of the ingredient with the ratio of 1:2.
1 bleach powder : 2 developer.
*The mixture should appear blue due to the bleach powder.*
2) Apply it all around your hair evenly.
3) Wear a shower cap, leave it for about 45 minutes ~ 60 minutes *MAXIMUM*
*WARNING: Do not leave it on for too long!* 💀💀💀
4) This step is optional, but to get a lighter shade, you can always use a hair dryer.
Try to heat up your hair a little while it is with the mixture.
As soon as you feel your whole head is warm, you are good. :)
5) Wash the bleach mixture off, and apply conditional.
6) After dying, please apply hair mask more often than you did before,
because your hair will be REALLY REALLY DRY and DAMAGE!
Here is my hair as a result of bleaching:
I went form Black hair -> Blonde.
*This is my first time bleaching by myself so it came out a little uneven but it is fine. LOL*
You can always have you friend or family apply the mixture for you to get a better result. :)
